What About the Rock? |

Matthew
16:17,18: “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed
art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not
revealed it unto thee, but my Father which in heaven,
And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon
this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell
shall not prevail against it.
Elder Mark D. Rowell, said it so well in these few words:
“Flesh and blood hath not revealed it BUT my Father in
Heaven.”
I think the prime attribute of the Rock is the
divine revelation of truth that Christ is the son of the
living God.
Stop, I ask you, and consider what he said! All of the times
we have heard/read about the Rock (of which much can be
said) which was smitten, in 1Cor.10:1-4 and that was a rock
of stumbling and a rock of offense in 1Peter 2:1-10;) to
those who have not through the Spirit, put aside all guile,
hypocrisies, envies and evil speaking, and become as newborn
babes desiring the sincere milk of His words of truth by the
revelation of Jesus Christ, which was revealed to us by the
Spirit of God, that we might grow in the knowledge of the
revelation of God by His Spirit, that Christ is the Son of
the living God; and grow until such glorious knowledge and
truth enables us by the Spirit, to stand upon that Rock and
rejoice, giving all glory to God in the assembly of those
who seek the Lord by His Spirit, and are assembled to
worship Him, in the truth of the revelation that Jesus
Christ is the Son of the living God, and our fountain of
living waters!
My hope is built
on nothing less
Than Jesus Blood
and righteousness;
I dare not trust
the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on
Jesus' name;
On Christ the
solid Rock I Stand,
All other ground
is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking
