Weather Report

Elder George Walker (dec)

It is always a treat to read these “Weather Reports” which Brother George has left behind for us. No matter what day it is, or what the report is; he always seemed to be able to call upon the Sun of righteousness to shine in our hearts and brighten our day; whether the sky is clear and blue, or cloudy with rain; his Weather Reports still help brighten our day.   Editor

Sunday, October the 16th, 2005 under clear skies, no wind with the temperature at 60.4 degrees.

"Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock." (Luke 6:47-48)

This verse is telling me that when we have heard the gospel preached in its power and the Spirit of God has testified to you of a truth then we need to consider of being obedient to what we have seen and heard, because we understand the scriptures to teach that Christ is that rock, that Christ is that foundation and if we are founded upon this true rock Jesus Christ, then as the flood and storms of life come our way and they will come. The winds will blow, the troubles will come, but as we put our trust and our hope in the Lord, he will see us through because we are founded upon a Rock.

Thursday, October the ninth, 2008 under clear skies, wind from the SSE at eleven mph, with the temperature at eighty-three degrees.

Yesterday my thoughts were on the love of God and how it affects us from the covenant before the world begin to the resurrection of our bodies when Christ comes again. How does the love of God affect us as we live in this time world? The love of God reaches forth and touches the heart, it creates a new heart that has feeling. It comes from God and goes back to God. It gives us the ability to love God, to love our neighbor, to have compassion on one another, to love the things we once hated, to forgive our enemies, to share the good news of Christ our redeemer. It gives us the ability and the desire to help one another and to keep ourselves unspotted from the world. It flows from breast to breast, from heart to heart, from one person to another by an act of faith.
