“The Golden Rule”

• Son, don't do mean things to other people,

and they won't need to pay you back.

•  Son, just because it is the Golden Rule,

don't mean it is worth more on the pay-back.

• Son, just because it says “do unto others” don't

mean you have to do something.

• Son, do unto others, only do it first, is not the Golden Rule.

USED TO SAY

“Adoration”

Lord let me praise Thee in the morning,

while the day is new,

Let me praise Thee at the noon-tide,

and the evening too.

Let me not forget to praise Thee,

For since on the cross they nailed Thee.

Thy Love has never failed me, and it never will!

"For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." (Acts 2:39)

After repentance and baptism comes the gift of the Holy Ghost as is in verse thirty-eight. The promise in this verse is referring back to the gift of the Holy Ghost. Notice now how verse thirty-eight is worded, "And ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Not the Holy Ghost, but the gift of it. So now the promise in our text is the gift of the Holy Ghost, this gift springs out of the Holy Ghost, that is, the Holy Spirit that dwells with in. When a person repents and is baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, all of those will receive this gift because it is a promise from God. We read in other scriptures that baptism is the answer of a good conscience toward God, not the good conscience but the answer of it. Now relate back to the time that you were baptized and when you came up out of the water, remember how you felt, how refreshed, how good and how relieved you felt as the Lord speaks to you in a small still voice. "Well done thou good and faithful servant.”
