The word ACCEPT, ACCEPTABLE, ACCEPTABLY, ACCEPTANCE,
ACCEPTATION, ACCEPTED, ACCEPTEST, ACCEPTHETH and ACCEPTING
are the various tenses of the word.
This word in all these various tenses are in the K.J.T.
totally 87 times. 60 in the O.T. and 27 in the N.T.
HFB Declaration: After many hours, weeks, months, years of
studying this word “Accept” I find that NONE of those
entries state nor, imply nor even intimate that any HUMAN is
to ACCEPT God or Christ, with an eternal consequence, but
quite the reverse. God does the ACCEPTING of us.
Some questions herein comes to mind:
1. Can man accept what is not offered to him?
2. Can man accept anything when he is without strength?
3. Or, when he is dead in sin?
4. Can a Dead Man accept, in order to become alive?
5. Can man’s accepting instrumentally Cause life?
Eph 1:6 says it all: “To the praise of the glory of his
grace, wherein he hath MADE US ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED.”
If a human-person had to ACCEPT Christ, then the verse
should read – “To the praise of the glory of your good and
Righteous works, instead of his GRACE.”
Another
premise by many, is that “You have to accept a gift before
it becomes yours.” Let us examine that false premise. What
if I “hit you with a 2 by 4 board?” Did you have to accept
the hit before you felt it? Was the hit offered to you? Or
were you totally passive in receiving the hit.
Theologically, the GODHEAD planted Eternal Life WITHIN you,
active on their part, passive on your part. This INWARD life
is sovereignly planted within you by the VOICE OF THE SON OF
GOD, not the voice of a preacher. John 5:25; 6:63.
If I put a five dollar bill in your pocket, did you have to
accept it before receiving it? What if you did NOT EVEN KNOW
I had placed it in your pocket until later, when you were
home and was preparing for bedtime, then you discovered it?
Can you now or still REJECT it? Can you through it away or
burn it or put it in the trash? Can you mail it back to the
giver without a return address? Can you reject a virus? Can
you reject your mortality? Read: Rom. 8:20.
These are viable points to ponder:
In all cases our prayer should be that God WOULD ACCEPT US.
1Ti 1:15 – is a case in point wherein we are to ACCEPT
something – the Gospel of the Finished Work of Jesus Christ
on Calvary’s Cross pertaining to Eternal Blood Redemption,
Death Atonement, Legal Sanctification, Legal Justification,
And to therein be Reconciled – 2Co 5:20-21.
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all
acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save
sinners; of whom I am chief.” What is the SAYING to is
worthy of be accepted by us? The FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST in
saving (not just saving-at, or trying to save) sinners.
Now I have a 24 page, legal-length detailed analysis of the
Subject of ACCEPTING, available upon request.
Conclusion is expressed by David in his prayer in = Ps 19:14
– “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my
heart, be ACCEPTABLE in THY sight, O Lord, my strength, and
my redeemer.” For the Cause of Truth, ACCEPTING appears
87 Times in the K.J.T. 60 in the O.T. and 27 in the N.T.
None of these have a context of such having to do with
Eternal Life on our part whatsoever. In fact, here is the
actual reality, found in His Grace – Eph 1:6 – “Wherein he
hath made us accepted in the beloved.” Eph 1:7 teaches such
is found through his blood.”
