Important Bible Words |
|
My first word is
MERCY, because it is usually the first word God uses
when talking about how He brought salvation to His
people, by His MERCY; “not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to His mercy He
saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost; which He shed on us
abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior;” and the
meaning words for MERCY are forbearance, clemency,
and leniency can be granted to guilty person for any
offence.
My next word is PROPITIATION and that was
accomplished on the Cross when Christ gave His life
for us, to satisfy an offended one; meaning God, on
our behalf; “Whom God hath set forth to be a
PROPITIATION through faith in His blood, to declare
His righteousness for the remission of sins that are
past, through the forbearance of God.” The meaning
for PROPITIATION is to gain or regain the favor of
an offended one by the shedding of blood which
Christ did, and paid our debt our offense on
Golgotha.
The next word is RECONCILIATION, this is an action
that brings two or more things together that has
been separated for a space of time; “Wherefore in
all things it behooved Him to be made like His
brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful
high priest in things pertaining to God, to make
RECONCILIATION for the sins of the people.” So
Christ reconciled us back to His Father, which in
turn gave us back His son Jesus Christ who saved us.
So RECONCILIATION is the taking care of a matter
that has caused a separation between two parties.
Meaning to restore, or renew a relationship. |

Some folks believe God Predestinated ALL things
whatsoever happens whether such ever comes to pass
or not. They say "do you believe what is to be won't
be?" The True Primitive Baptist Church teaches ONLY what God's
Holy Word says and no more. God predestinated His
People ONLY, not things or events in TIME. Rom.
8:28-30; Eph. 1:4, 11.

"That, according as it is
written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord." (1st
Corinthians 1:31)
Man is always wanting to glory
in something. It is usually his self or something that he
has done. Then there are times that we glory in what we
possess, what our friends possess, or what our family
possesses. Yet we find that all these possessions are
worldly and perish with using. But Paul says; "He that
glorieth, let him glory in the Lord," As we glory in the
Lord we find possessions that are eternal, treasures that
never fade away, thoughts that comfort the heart, and brings
peace to the soul. The Lord is worthy of our praise, worthy
of all the glory that he receives and he will never leave us
nor forsake us because we are his workmanship created in
Christ Jesus unto all good works.

In Romans chapter 12
and verse 18 we read; If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. It seems
that sometimes that it is pretty easy to live
peaceably with the members of the church in which
you attend. It might even be easy to enjoy the peace
and fellowship of our sister Churches in Christ and
indeed we need to strive for peace and fellowship
for all Primitive Baptists people throughout, but
this text says; If it be possible, as much as lieth
in you, live peaceably with all men. |

With All Men

How about the people
that live across the street or down the road from
us? Is it not just as important to strive to have
peace with them as it is with the Church of Jesus
Christ? In 1st Timothy chapter 3, verse 7 Paul says;
moreover he must have a good report of them, which
are without; lest he fall into reproach and the
snare of the devil. Do you suppose that a person can
have peace and unity in the church if he is always
fighting with his neighbors? Have you ever had
someone that lived next to you that always kept you
upset with the way that they act, do, or present him
or herself? Do you sometimes just want to strike
back and get even? Does it sometimes flow over into
the church that you attend and you will snap back at
a loving church member that you highly esteem in the
Lord?
Well, what about the ones in the world that hate
what you believe and stand for? Especially when they
ridicule and make light of salvation by grace. Do
you realize that the mark of a true disciple is to
be a people that strive for peace in or out of the
church of Jesus Christ? In verse 19 thru 21 the
apostle says; Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves,
but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he
thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt
heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of
evil, but overcome evil with good. Do you realize
that the only way that we can overcome evil is by
doing well? |

“About
Work”
 |
• Work happens when a force is exerted and something is
moved: So I guess there is not much work going on, when all
the junk that needed picking up, is still laying where it
was.
• Maybe that is why we fall short on good works sometimes;
cause self is usually the hardest thing there is to move.
• Some people want to work by talkin' it out, but the Lord is
the only one I ever heard of, moving things by talkin' to 'em.
• Ever notice when there is more talking there is less work;
and when there is more working there is less talk.
• Daddy said: “Folks think us Old Baptists don't believe in
works; but the best way there is to PASS time, is to KEEP
MOVING.” |
