Heart to Heart |

The title is
an expression used when you desire to share with those you
love most; your deepest heart felt thoughts and feelings.
This is what I would like to do at this time, however words
usually fail me to sufficiently express what I feel.
When I make an
effort to pray I try to thank Him for so many blessings that
have been given to such an undeserving one. Have you tried
the old saying, count your blessings. I don’t have enough
years left to count them all. How precious have been the
love and fellowship of my brothers and sisters in Christ and
the times the Saviour has manifested His presence. I cannot
express the joy that I have received in my feeble efforts in
the Ministry. There have been a few storms in life but the
Lord has delivered me through them all. I have complete
faith in God that whatever shall come in the future He will
deliver His people. It has been my desire to witness the
prosperity in my lifetime of that which I have loved so
dearly and tried to labor to that end. (The Church of God
and His people.)
Considering
how merciful the Lord has been and has shown His love and
grace upon an undeserving people, let us always be found
thanking Him. God forbid that we complain of our lot in
life. Thy will be done.
Let us not
complain of our lot but let us be realistic in our
observations of what we are experiencing today. The entire
Christian religion is under siege today. The conservative
branch of the Christian religion is being abandoned by many
of their own for the purpose of making their religion
appealing to the public. My question to them is, who
according to the word of God, is supposed to change, people
or the Church?
Brethren, let us take our little Church to study for a
moment. (Little Flock) The Lord blessed us to constitute
that little Church in the early part of 2002. It was
constituted with about 30 Charter members. It now has about
25 members. There have been some Baptisms, some withdrawals
from, and some deaths and some received by letter. We are
all at peace and so thankful for our little Church, however
when we meet only about half of these are able to attend.
Most of those who do not attend are hindered by age and
health; a few choose not to come. Brethren, my heartbreaks
as I witness our congregation grow smaller and smaller. I
also have to thank God for those faithful ones who continue
to labor and support the Church. The Lord continues to bless
us with His presence in our services. I am persuaded, that
perhaps numbers are important to man and not God. Let us
keep in mind what the purpose of the Bride of Christ is when
she meets, honor her husband.
Children of
God, we are all sad to see our little Church get to be so
few in number, but I have a question for you. How much truth
and how much of the Baptist tradition are you willing to
sacrifice? And how much of the world are you willing to
bring into the Church to make it more attractive to the
world and increase your numbers? I personally am not willing
to sacrifice even one in light of the statement above. Some
in our area have made this sacrifice. Purity of the worship
service must be maintained at any cost. I do not want to
loose what I joined and what I have loved so many years.
Brethren, I send forth a plea to the members of our little
Church, to the members of the Church of God, wherever you
are, and to the believers of the truth, support your Church.
They need your presence. We have the Church but I fear if we
do not take care of it He will give it to a people somewhere
who will.
Brethren, let
us find ourselves together to resist the forces of evil that
are running rampant in the world and are treading underfoot
every decent and Godly principle that we have treasured
since our childhood.
Children of
God, pray without ceasing. I leave you with this thought.
(Eph. 6:11-12) “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may
be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Eph. 6:12)
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places.”
Children, I
have poured my heart out to you. I sorely miss each one whom
I have had sweet fellowship with in days gone by. (I Tim.
6:12) “fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal
life, where unto thou art so called, and hast professed a
good profession before many witness,” march on Christian
soldiers. |
