Psa 139:17-18 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

"For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."

I was thinking about David being a man, a man that the Lord used greatly, yet at the same time David sinned against God. David was a man blessed of the Lord, yet had troubles on every side. It seems as if trouble followed him everywhere he went, yet throughout his life he still praised the God of heaven. There were many things that David knew about God that few in that day had knowledge of. Over and over again David says; "For the Lord is Good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." We have our troubles today as David had his and when we are thinking straight we also can say the Lord is good.

In the past year or so I have had many health issues that has caused me to slow down, and not go as much as I have in the past. Yet the Lord has been so good and I find like David that his mercy is everlasting and his truth is still enduring to all generations. Some nights as I lie in my bed the pain seems to be worse when all you can hear is the clock ticking. Yet I find the Lord is still with me every step of the way. Sometimes it seems as if I can just reach out and touch the hem of his garments as he speaks to me in that small still voice telling me that all is well. Oh help us O Lord not to forget thy greatness, thy power, thy mercy, thy loving kindness and that you stay closer to us than a brother.

Naturally, we desire natural understanding; but only by

the Spirit can we receive the Truth as it is in Christ.

The Lord said in Matt. 12:39 & 40: “An evil and adulterous

generation seeks a sign, but NONE shall be given, but that

of Jonas; three days and three nights.”

Why do we need to know more than what the Lord said He would give?

Truth received in the Spirit, is food and water to the

inner man.  Eat therefore and drink what He has given!

Psalms 103:10-12

"He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

These three verses we ought to sit back and think about what David is really saying. All of us could spend days studying them and not even scratch the surface. "He hath not dealt with us after our sins." If we had the ability to look back through the years and count up all the sins that we remember doing, just the ones we can remember ought to cause us to blush with shame and cause to see that these sins is not held against us, they are not charged to our account, they will never separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. But if the Lord had dealt with us according to our sins there would be no hope for wretched sinners.

"Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities." Jesus said that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.  Our iniquities have been our labors, our iniquities separated us from God, but still these sins were not imputed unto us. "So great is his mercy toward them that fear him." Mercy carries the thought of not getting what we worked for, not getting what we deserve because of mercy. Jesus took our sins upon himself, the just suffering for the unjust. He took our sins and put them away from us, not just away from us, but as far as the east is from the west and remembers them against us no more.
