"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?" (Acts 2:37)

Previously we covered the verse before dealing with how our sins crucified our Lord and Christ.  Today in this verse;  "Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart."  As they heard Peter preaching the crucifixion of Christ it touched their heard, it condemned their soul, they felt guilty before a holy God and knew from deep within themselves that this was of a truth, that their sins nailed Christ to the cross.  Then this moved them to ask Peter and the other apostles, "What shall we do?"  This question would have never been asked without a good conscience and this good conscience pronounced them guilty before God and they needed some relief, they needed help to deal with their sin or sins.  Some seek help from difference sources other than the Lord, other than the truth, but to find relief does not come from the world, but comes from knowing about a Saviour that came to seek and to save them that were lost.

"And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.  And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus." (Luke 24:2-3)

My mind has been on the resurrection of our bodies so much in the past few months, it seems as if it would get old after awhile.  Yet the older that I get, the fresher it becomes, because our resurrection is based upon the death, the burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.  I can only speculate on how these women must have reacted when they saw the sepulchre and found the stone rolled away.  Maybe at first there was some panic especially after they entered in and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.  But the scriptures tells us that they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:  These two men said unto them;  Why seek ye the living among the dead?  He is not here, but is risen and brought back to their memory about the message he delivered unto them when he was yet  in Galilee in how that he must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and the third day rise again. O, what news this must have been, how the fear and the panic left with the good news of their risen Saviour.  How they must have lost no time getting the news to the eleven apostles and all the rest.  O, should not this message effect us in this day and time?  There ought to be shouting in our churches every meeting day just to bring back our memories that we might be refreshed day by day.
