A Thought for the New

A thought, as we enter into
the New Year of 2023:
Remember Patience: When we truly desire to do the things God
would have us do; let us not forget, that we have a great
cloud of witnesses, of God's providence, both behind us and
present with us. So let us, as Paul says in Heb. 12:1,2
“lay aside every weight of mind, soul and thought, and let
us run with 'Patience,' the race that is set before us,
looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”
Patience is defined in
Scripture as “Hopeful Endurance.” Hope already has us in
expectation of wining the race; but let us be careful not to
tarnish the victories we receive in providence and grace by
failing to patiently follow in the paths of truth and
obedience, and visiting often at the “Throne of Grace.”
