Find Your Place |

There are many of God’s
children who are wasting time in their lives by spending it
in the wrong places. We can spend our time chasing
prosperity, enjoying recreation, working, with family, even
helping others; and all of these things are good and valid
in the proper place and time. But, they are not always the
best time spent.
Many times we find our place
of comfort and solace, where we would least expect it to be;
and much to our surprise, it becomes a far better place,
than any our minds could imagine, or believe to be. Joy, so
many times is found in the simple, yet humbling places.
The place often overlooked is
at the feet of Jesus. When we are humbled at His feet, it
gives meaning to all the other things we have to do in life.
In the book of Ruth we find her seeking and arriving at the
feet of Boaz. When she got there, everything else in her
life changed, and it changed forever. The experiences she
encountered on her journey to his feet provides a number of
lessons for all of us. Why not take a few moments of your
busy life and read the beautiful story of love as related in
the book of Ruth.
One of the lessons here is
what we are supposed to do when the Lord reveals in our
hearts His love for us as His children. We are to seek Him,
and, when we find Him we are to lay at His feet and humbly
seek His will for our lives of service to His great name.
Why not spend some quality time at the feet of Jesus today,
knowing that He loves us with an everlasting love and is
worthy of Listen to these words of instruction in Luke 11:9,
“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you;
seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto
you.” Those who have been born again of the Spirit of
God and given a heart of understanding, are instructed to
seek the Lord with all their heart; not in order to become a
child of God, but because they ARE a child of the King.
We know that we seek the Lord
because we love Him, and that we love Him because He first
loved us. Once He has placed that love in our hearts, we are
to seek to be in His presence as Ruth sought to be in the
presence of Boaz. In John 1:41, we find the account of
Andrew going to his brother (Simon Peter) and telling him
“We have found the Messiah.” Then John 1:45 says, “Philip
findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of
whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of
Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” |
