His Own Will |

The
Scripture speaks in many places about the will of God; how
He worketh His will; He doeth His will, etc. & etc. But
there are three places in Scripture where He uses the term
“His own will.”
This
does not change the will of God, nor does it add to it or
diminish it whatsoever. It does, however give us a sort of
distinction to these three things under consideration, and
the importance of them in His work of the eternal salvation
of His elect.
Eph.
1:11, “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance,
being predestinated according to the purpose of him who
worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:”
Let us
remember that the “whom” under consideration is Christ; and
that we are predestinated to an eternal inheritance, after
the counsel of God's own will; which tells me that God
personally attended to the eternal salvation of them “whom
He did foreknow.” Rom. 8:29 We should give earnest heed
because: Heb. 2:4, “God also bearing them witness, both
with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts
of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” Please
read Heb. 2:1-4
Jas.
1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth,
that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Still wondering? God the Father laid it out Himself, and God
the Son came down from Heaven Himself and performed it.
