Thoughts on the Order of the New Testament Church

Elder Hulan Bass

New Testament Church Order, beginning with John the Baptist, Matt. 3:12; then Jesus Christ Himself, especially the SERMON ON THE MOUNT – Matt. 5, 6, 7; then He selected 12 Apostles – Matt. 10:2—4; some were very outstanding such as Simon Peter who we will accentuate much herein.

Following was the Apostle Paul directed primarily to us Gentles; This has just been an “overview” of the CLASS ROOM GOSPEL on Earth Group and TIME-FRAME, primarily between JEWS and then us GENTILES - There are NO GOSPEL CLASS ROOM in Eternal Heaven, but even on earth such is directed primarily and only to the BORN-AGAIN Elect. The bonds between the “Old” and the “New” dispensations were not suddenly snapped asunder, but suffered to become weaker and weaker until they entirely disappeared; upon the destruction of the Temple, the “New Church” found herself “standing alone” and unconnected with any of the forms of the “Levitical Worship” – Matt. 24:2.

The Apostle Peter was the predominate figure of this remarkable “miracle” supernatural, but divine transitional period. Closing with this text – Matt. 16:18 – “Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates Of hell shall not prevail against it.” Part of V19 “And will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” This is Jesus Himself speaking. So the outline of this writing is in Five Divisions, Miracles, Growth, Conflict, The Resurrection and lastly the Transition.

We are all today in this TRANSITION.
